GIFdot Android Terms of Use

1. Purpose and Definitions

These Terms set out the rights, obligations, responsibilities, and conditions governing the relationship between the Operator and users of GIFdot.

• “GIFdot” or the “Service” means the Android application and related features provided by the Operator for editing, converting, and saving photos, videos, and other media.
• “User” means a person who uses the Service under these Terms.
• “Pro” means the paid service that removes ads and provides the additional features displayed in the App.
• “Subscription” means a monthly or annual product that automatically renews through Google Play at the applicable interval.
• “Lifetime Purchase” means a one-time product that grants Pro access to the Google Play account used for the purchase without recurring charges.

2. Publication, Effect, and Changes to These Terms

• The Operator makes these Terms readily available in the App settings, on the purchase screen, or on a webpage maintained by the Operator.
• To the extent permitted by applicable law, a User accepts these Terms by reviewing them and beginning to use the Service or proceeding with a paid purchase.
• Important terms, including price, duration, automatic renewal, cancellation, and refunds, are presented separately and clearly before purchase.
• The Operator may amend these Terms in compliance with applicable law. Material or unfavorable changes will generally be announced at least 30 days before they take effect; other changes will generally be announced at least 7 days in advance, together with the effective date and reason for the change.
• A User who does not agree to amended Terms may stop using the Service. Conditions in effect at the time of purchase and applicable law will take priority for rights under an existing paid purchase.

3. Service

The Operator may provide the following features:

• Importing photos and videos
• Editing media, applying effects, and converting media into GIF and other supported formats
• Saving converted results to the device and sharing them
• Free ad-supported features and Pro features
• Other ancillary features needed to operate GIFdot

Specific features and Pro benefits are those displayed in the App and on the purchase screen. Processing speed and results may vary depending on device performance, operating system, available storage, and file format.

4. Media Processing and Storage

• GIFdot's core media editing and conversion operations are generally performed on the User's device.
• The Operator does not upload and store original photos or videos selected by the User on a separate server for the App's core functions.
• The Operator does not acquire ownership of the User's photos, videos, or generated output beyond what is necessary to provide the Service.
• Information processed for analytics, advertising, purchase verification, push notifications, and error reporting is described separately in the Privacy Policy.
• Users should separately back up important original files before editing or conversion.

5. User Duties and Rights

• Users must have the lawful right to use any photos, videos, and other content they import into the Service.
• Users must not create, convert, or distribute unlawful content or content that infringes another person's copyright, publicity or portrait rights, privacy, or other rights.
• Users must not interfere with the normal operation of the App, bypass security controls, or copy, modify, or reverse engineer the App except where permitted by applicable law.
• Rights in a User's original content and resulting output remain with the User or the relevant rights holder.
• Rights in the GIFdot software, user interface, design, logo, and content supplied by the Operator belong to the Operator or the relevant rights holder.
• Third-party open-source software included in the App is governed by its applicable open-source license.

6. Advertising and Third-Party Services

• Ads may be displayed in the free version.
• GIFdot may use third-party services such as Google Play, Firebase, AdMob, RevenueCat, and Cloudflare for payment processing, advertising, analytics, push notifications, and error diagnostics.
• The terms and privacy policies of those providers may also apply to their services.
• Consent and withdrawal options for advertising and optional marketing-related processing are described in the App settings and the Privacy Policy.

7. Pro and Paid Products

• The price, currency, tax, duration, and benefits of a Pro product are those displayed by Google Play at the time of purchase.
• Paid products are processed through Google Play Billing. The Operator does not directly collect or store payment method details such as card numbers.
• Monthly and annual plans may renew automatically under Google Play's policies until canceled by the User.
• A Lifetime Purchase is a one-time product that provides Pro features in GIFdot Android without recurring charges.
• A Lifetime Purchase does not automatically include a separate new product or service unless the purchase screen expressly states that it is included.
• The purchase restoration feature may be used with the same Google Play account used for the purchase. Purchase verification and synchronization may take a short time.

8. Subscription Renewal and Cancellation

• Subscriptions may renew automatically according to the billing interval displayed by Google Play.
• Users may cancel before the next billing date through Google Play subscription management.
• Uninstalling the App does not cancel a Subscription.
• Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless a refund or another exception applies, Pro access continues until the end of the current paid period.
• Subscription price changes will be announced in advance, or any required consent will be obtained, in accordance with Google Play policies and applicable law.

9. Withdrawal and Refunds

• Withdrawal and refunds for paid products are governed by Google Play's refund policies and applicable laws of the Republic of Korea.
• Users may request a refund through the process provided by Google Play or by contacting the Operator's customer support email.
• Where digital content has begun to be supplied, withdrawal may be restricted if the requirements of applicable law are met. Where such a restriction applies, the Operator will clearly disclose it before purchase and take the measures required by law.
• Duplicate charges, payment errors, failure to provide purchased features, and other issues attributable to the Operator will be handled under applicable law and Google Play procedures.
• The timing of an approved refund may depend on Google Play and the payment method provider.
• Canceling a Subscription stops the next payment and is separate from refunding a payment already completed.

10. Service Changes and Suspension

• The Operator may temporarily suspend the Service due to maintenance, security concerns, system failure, force majeure, third-party service failure, or changes in law or platform policy.
• Planned suspensions will be announced in advance where reasonably possible. Emergency suspensions may be announced afterward.
• The Operator may change free features but will give reasonable advance notice of changes that materially affect Users.
• If a material part of a paid service is discontinued or can no longer be provided, the Operator will take user-protection measures under applicable law and the applicable purchase conditions.

11. Use Restrictions and Liability

• If a User materially violates these Terms or applicable law, the Operator may request that the conduct stop or restrict use of the Service. The Operator may take necessary action without prior notice in the event of an urgent security risk or unlawful conduct.
• The Operator will not arbitrarily revoke previously purchased Pro rights without a valid reason.
• To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator's liability may be limited for damage caused by the User's device, storage, operating system, or network; defects in files supplied by the User; or third-party failures outside the Operator's reasonable control.
• The Operator does not guarantee identical conversion speed, quality, or results across all devices and files.
• Nothing in this section excludes liability for the Operator's intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any consumer right that cannot be limited by law.
• GIFdot is not designed primarily for children under 14 years of age.

12. Privacy and Contact

• The Operator protects personal information in accordance with applicable law. Details are available in the GIFdot Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

• These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
• The Operator and the User will attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith consultation.
• If a dispute cannot be resolved by consultation, jurisdiction will be determined under the Korean Civil Procedure Act and other applicable law.
• Mandatory consumer-protection laws in the User's country of residence will prevail where applicable.
